2 October 2019 - Australian Switchgear Engineers NOJA Power today announce the release of enhancements to their Ground Mount Kiosk Recloser product to include Rate of Change of Frequency Protection and Voltage Vector Shift. Often considered essential in renewable energy integration, these protection function upgrades are now available in the NOJA Power GMK product providing a single product to address all renewable connection requirements at Medium Voltage.
The new functionality is achieved through an upgrade of the onboard control system, from NOJA Power’s utility workhorse, the RC10, to their pioneering flagship RC20 control. This newly available switchgear relay and controller provides both ROCOF and VVS capabilities, along with far greater processing power and a hardware platform for encryption for device cybersecurity.

Designed for future control system networks, the RC20 hosts a myriad of connection ports, from dual gigabit ethernet to traditional RS232 Serial. Backed by hardware encryption, the RC20 provides a future proofed platform for development of electricity network cybersecurity and grid resilience.
In the GMK Arrangement, the upgraded RC20 control is joined by a NOJA Power OSM Recloser; a vacuum interrupting circuit breaker with solid dielectric insulation. Further options in the system include metering instrumentation, an interlocked earth switch and communications peripherals.
